    Announcements:
    Welcome Kimberly & Dale Mauldin
    as new members!!!
    --Set your alarms so you won't miss the launch of the new Sunday School class on September 23rd.  If you would like to come try it out, meet in room C303 with teachers  David & Shelly Cauble.  While we will miss those no longer in the same room, we will be just across the hall so we should be able to see each other on Sundays! 
    --October 21 -- Fall Hayride at the Akridge Farm @ 3:30pm.  The Cauble class and the Akridge class will meet together for a Fun, Fall, Family Gathering.  Remember to bring your lawn chairs, kids toy rides, blankets, marshmallow roasters, and more.  A sign up in the classes will be passed around to bring food items.
    Prayer Requests:
    --Brenda-- my mother for her peace of mind about her health.  Also Jim, my brother-in-law, as he has scans again this Tues. and results on Wed. Pray for his and Rebecca's peace, especially that they can sleep on Tues. night. He's also been having more issues lately with side-effects of the drug
    --Stephanie--a couple negative items that need to be turned into positive.  Just feeling a lot of negativity.
    --Brooke & Jerry--our daughter struggling with newness of kindergarten & change.
    --Mandy--Reidus & Hazel Bryant health issues.
    --Continued growth for the new Cauble class and Akridge class.

    --Announcements:
    Welcome Mandy Bryant as a new member!
    --September 23rd is the BIG day that we begin our new Sunday School class led by David & Shelly Cauble in room C303.  If you are interested in helping launch this new class or if you have any questions please let Brenda or Mike know.

    --Sept 16th--The Great Steak off dinner-6pm. Childcare is provided but please register in Sunday School or by calling the church office. Come enjoy a fun meal served by other Sunday School classes to celebrate winning the attendance challenge.

    --Sept. 15th--Saturday Girls' Morning Out--9:00am at Cracker Barrel. Come meet up with the gals for a morning out full of conversation and fun! Let Brenda know if you are coming so she can know how many to expect.
     
    Prayer requests:
    -Krista - for safe travels for Keith while he's in Canada this week
    -Brooke & Jerry - for our daughter Evie's adjustment to kindergarten
    -Heidi - safe travels for our friend Daniel coming from Florida to visit
    -Dale Mauldin - for continued smooth recovery from shoulder surgery last Thurs.
    -Vesla - peace for Chad with work
    -Tony & Kenya - for a job; for Kenya's being able to enroll in nursing school, because she had to turn down her first acceptance; for God's provision of the right rental house to move to by the end of the month
    -Brenda - for my mom's peace & freedom from worry/fretting; praise that her issue Sunday was only vertigo & not something more serious.
    -Scott's grandaddy as he adjusts to living without his wife of more than 71 years.

    --Here we GROW again!  God has blessed our class with so many new couples we are busting at the seams so we are going to birth a new Sunday School class on September 16th.  If you are interested in helping launch this new class or if you have any questions please let Brenda or Mike know.

    --Christy C.-going through a divorce.  Please pray for son Alex.  He is going to a new school this year and it is a lot of change for him.  We are living with my sister-in-law.

    --Tony & Kenya A.--just everyday life, pray for our strength in the Lord.

    --Scott T.--grandmother has 100%, and 80% blockages and needs a valve replacement, but surgery would complicate her dementia tremendously so they have opted to try and treat with other meds.  It is not a good situation.

    --Please pray for the effects that Hurricane Isaac may have.

    We had quite a crowd, 59 with 11 of those being visitors. We even ran out of chairs & had to go out of the room to get more!!!!!  And with that kind of attendance we are excited to announce that our team "Matthew", won the Steak-off.  Way to go!  Is anybody hungry for steak?
    Prayer requests:
    Chris Stanford - pray for my cousin Stan's safety; he was deployed last week to Afghanistan.
    Jennifer Pannell - pray for my sis Becca to have God's peace on their son Levi's birthday on Aug. 26.  Levi died at 7 weeks old  last year in October.
    Brenda - for my cousin Carolyn to have her physical & spiritual strength renewed as she endures breast cancer treatments.
    George & Cindy Jones (members of Zane Hood's group) - for their comfort, peace & strength during the days, weeks, & months following the death yesterday of their adopted daughter from China, whom they had only for a few weeks.

    Announcements:

    -Mystery Dinner- this Friday, 8/17 @ 6:30pm --be sure to contact Krista if you have not signed up, and remember to get a babysitter lined up. You should receive an email by Wednesday finding out your restaurant choice.  You will find out the other couples in your group when you show up...Keep it a surprise!  After dinner everyone can meet back at the church for desserts in the Blythe Equipping Center (enter by the offices and it is on the top floor.) 
    -Mission Opportunity--August 18-Saturday, 8am or when you can arrive at Chalkville Elementary for a yard work day.   If you have some, bring your own equipment like gloves, shovels, rakes, etc. There will also be equipment on site to use so you can just show up!

    Ashley F.-father having shoulder replacement surgery on Monday Aug. 15.

    Stephanie B.-good friend passed away & aunt passed away.

    Dore' K- pray for Wood family.  Cheryl's recovery from surgery.

    Elizabeth-friend LaShonda leaving an abusive marriage.

    Brady & Julie--traveling this week.  Cody got tubes last week.  Pray he stays well.  Julie's co-worker still has her two grandchildren.  Daughter still hasn't come home in 2 months.

    Scott & Lisa-traveling over the weekend.
